  1. The State of Kuwait is a beautiful country in Western Asia.
  2. It is a small emirate nestled between Iraq (north) and Saudi Arabia (south) .
  3. Kuwait is located in a part of one of the driest, least-friendly deserts on Earth.
  4. Kuwait has a total area of 17,818 sq km (6,879 sq miles ), with a population density of 377 people per square mile (145.6 people per sq km) .
  5. With a theatrical tradition, Kuwait is the only country in the Gulf Arab region.
  6. Population of Kuwait is 4,270,571 people based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data.
  7. In 1938 oil reserves/saves were discovered for the first time in commercial quantities.
  8. In 1946, crude/unrefined oil was exported for the first time.
  9. From 1946 to 1982, the country went through huge scope modernization.
  10. In June 1961, Kuwait got independence with the end of the British protectorate.
  11. After independence, first Emir of Kuwait was Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah.
  12. Kuwait was the main Arab state in the Persian Gulf to build up a constitution and parliament.
  13. During the 1960s and 1970s, Kuwait was the most developed /evolved nation in the district.

  1. Kuwait City is the capital and largest city of Kuwait as well.
  2. It is located at the heart of the country on the south shore of Kuwait Bay on the Persian Gulf.
  3. Kuwait City is the economical, cultural as well as the political center of the emirate.
  4. Kuwait's National Assembly (parliament), most government offices, the headquarters of most Kuwaiti corporations and banks are present in the capital.
  5. Kuwait City's exchange/trade and transportation needs are served by Kuwait International Airport, Mina Al (Ahmadi Port) and Mina Al ( Shuwaikh Port) .
  6. According to year 2020 census the population of Kuwait City is now estimated at 3,114,553.

  1. Kuwait is a constitutional emirate.
  2. It has a semi-democratic political system/framework .
  3. The political system of Kuwait is divided between an elected/chosen parliament and appointed government.
  4. Kuwait is a non-NATO ally of the United States.
  5. Kuwait is also a major ally of ASEAN, while maintaining a very strong relationship with China.

  8. Emir is head of state and head of government of Kuwait as well, has the country's most powerful office.
  9. The Emirs of Kuwait are members of the Al-Sabah dynasty.
  10. A crown prince is the male heir apparent to the throne in a royal or imperial monarchy. The female form of the title is crown princess (the wife of the person styled crown prince).
  11. The National Assembly is the main legislative power in Kuwait. The presiding officer of the National Assembly of Kuwait is the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait.
  12. The Prime Minister (Head of government of Kuwait).
  13. PM is the third most powerful official in the country, after the Emir of Kuwait and Speaker of the National Assembly.
  14. The Prime Minister leads the executive branch of the Government of Kuwait.

Political Figures:

  1. Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jabir Al-Sabah is the Commander of the Kuwait Military Forces and the current Emir of Kuwait .
  2. He succeeded to the throne on 30th of September 2020, after the death of his half-brother, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
  3. The Crown Prince of Kuwait is Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jabir Al-Sabah.
  4. He is the oldest Crown Prince in the world. He is 80 years old.
  5. He was nominated to be the Crown Prince on 7th of October 2020. On 8 October, Kuwait's National Assembly approved Sheikh Mishaal as the Crown Prince.
  6. Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah is a Kuwaiti diplomat, politician and  the 8th Prime Minister of Kuwait (appointed in 2019).
  7. He is a senior member of the ruling family of Kuwait, the Al Sabah family.
  8. Marzouq Ali Thunayan Al-Ghanim is the current speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait, representing the second district.
  9. He was elected as a speaker of National Assembly of Kuwait in year 2013.

  1. The Kuwaiti dinar is the currency of Kuwait.It is sub-divided into 1,000 fils or fals. For example ; 1 Bahraini dinar = 1000 fulÅ«s (plural of Fils ),  1 Emirati dirham = 100 fulus,  1 Iraqi dinar = 1000 fulÅ«s,  1 Jordanian dinar = 1000 fulÅ«s,  1 Kuwaiti dinar = 1000 fulÅ«s.
  2. {*Fils = The fils is a subdivision of currency used in many Arab countries.
  3. The Kuwaiti dinar is the world's highest valued currency unit per face value.
  4. The dinar was introduced in 1960 to replace the Gulf rupee, that was equal to the Indian rupee.
  5. The coins were introduced in 1961. The design of all coins is similar. 
  6. The design has not changed since they were first minted. On the obverse is a Boom ship.
  7. {*Boom ship = A boum or boom (known as dhangi in India) is a medium sized, deep sea dhow, a traditional Arabic sailing vessel.

  2. There is no area/regional code in Kuwait. As of 17 October 2008, phone numbers in Kuwait consist of eight digits.
  3. From 17 October 2008 a single digit prefix was added to all fixed and mobile numbers as per the Ministry of Communication's new numbering plan/arrangement :
  4. Number 1 was added before all commercial 6 digit numbers
  5. Number 2 was added before all landline numbers
  6. Number 5 was added before all Stc (Sold Subject to Contract) numbers
  7. Number 6 was added before all Ooredoo Telecom - Formerly Wataniya Telecom numbers
  8. All the three digit lines remained the same without any additional number e.g. 121, 107, 113, 112, etc.
